Today, we are proud to announce that we have teamed up with Safe Passage Foundation to expand the NurseRecruiter.com Scholarship program. NurseRecruiter has committed to funding a $1000/year scholarship grant for the Safe Passage Foundation Julia McNeil Memorial Scholarship program.
Around the world, there are high demand organizations, often referred to as “cults” by society at large, that withdraw from society and require extraordinarily high levels of commitment from their members. Children raised in these restrictive and isolated environments are often abused, neglected, denied an education or face other routine violations of their basic human rights. Safe Passage Foundation was created to help provide resources, support and advocacy to those raised in such groups and help them on their journey as they make the transition to the world outside the isolated communities in which they were raised.
The NurseRecruiter.com scholarship grant for the Safe Passage Foundation Julia McNeil Memorial Scholarship program is open to anyone born or raised in a cult who has been admitted to or is enrolled in a nursing degree program. In some cases, those enrolled or admitted to a pre-nursing degree program may also be eligible. NurseRecruiter will fund the scholarship grants and help process applications. Recipients will be selected by a selection committee appointed by Safe Passage Foundation. Applicants should apply at NurseRecruiter and indicate the cult they were born or raised in the essay field of the application.
Julia McNeil, the founder of Safe Passage Foundation, had a favorite saying: “Sometimes an ordinary life is an extraordinary accomplishment.” Helping people raised in cults reach the extraordinary accomplishment of living an ordinary life is one of the fundamental reasons for the existence of Safe Passage Foundation. By partnering with Safe Passage Foundation to expand the NurseRecruiter.com Scholarship program, we hope to help those raised in cults become not only extraordinary survivors but extraordinary nurses as well.
